HRC Resistance Women’s Gun Club: September Event Recap

What a blast (pun intended) we had at the HRC Resistance Women’s Gun Club this month! For our second meetup, we gathered at Derk and Amy's farm for a day packed with good food, great fun, and some serious target practice. It turns out, when you put a group of determined women on a range with firearms, things get competitive—fast!

The day kicked off with some delicious food because, let’s be honest, a full stomach is essential for good aim. Then, we hit the range for some friendly competition, with each of us trying to prove who was the sharpest shooter of the day. In the end, the title went to none other than Miss Keira Vensel. We all cheered her on (and quietly vowed to take her down next time)!

A big shoutout to our amazing instructors: Ed Brown, Derk Kingrey, Mike Shindler, and our special guest, Robbie Combs. These gentlemen were there to guide us, help us improve our technique, and yes, they even offered a hand when a few of us may or may not have been struggling with some... finer details of the sport. Who knew cleaning a gun could be so complicated? Thankfully, the guys were there to make sure we didn’t “clean” our guns into unusable paperweights.

We wrapped up the day with a gun-cleaning tutorial, because let’s face it, our firearms deserved a little TLC after all that action. Now, we’re all prepped and ready for our next adventure on the range. Speaking of which—stay tuned for our October date! It's right around the corner, and we can't wait to see you all again.

Until then, keep your aim steady and your smiles wide! If you would like to join our Women’s Gun club click the link below.
