A Mind Set on Life
Weekly Prayer Focus
“He is Risen—and so are we.”
Because Jesus rose, we now live under the rule of the Spirit, not the flesh. Resurrection isn’t just a past event—it’s a present invitation to walk daily in step with the Holy Spirit.
Scripture
Romans 8:5–6 (ESV)
“For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.”
Devotion
The direction of your life follows the focus of your mind.
The resurrection didn’t just set you free from sin—it gave you the ability to think differently.
Paul teaches us that what we set our minds on matters. If we want to live the resurrected life, we must train our thoughts toward the things of the Spirit.
What are you focusing on today?
What occupies your thoughts when no one is watching?
A mind dominated by fear, shame, bitterness, the flesh, or pride slowly drains spiritual vitality.
But a mind set on the Word, truth, worship, prayer, and walking with the Lord leads to life and peace.
This is not about perfection—it’s about posture.
When we posture our minds toward God, He fills us with resurrection power from the inside out.
Prayer Focus
Ask God to renew your mind today—especially in any area of negativity, fear, or distraction.
Pray that your thoughts would be governed by truth, not emotions or circumstances.
Intercede for your family and church to walk in clarity, peace, and spiritual focus.
Pray that we would reject fleshly mindsets and live from the perspective of the risen Christ.
Declaration
I set my mind on the things of the Spirit.
I fix my thoughts on Jesus, and I refuse to be governed by the flesh.
My mind is filled with life and peace.
I am being renewed and transformed—one thought at a time.
