SLOW DOWN: Wait for God’s Timing

Main Passage: Proverbs 3:5-6 (NLT)
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take."

Devotion

Many times, we want things to happen on our schedule. But just because something is good doesn’t mean it's God’s timing.

Abraham and Sarah grew impatient waiting for God’s promise, so they tried to fulfill it themselves—which led to conflict and delay. (Genesis 16). When we rush ahead, we risk stepping outside of God's plan.

God’s timing is always perfect. If you feel pressure to make a quick decision, take a moment to slow down, pray, and wait on God.

Prayer Directive

  • Ask God to help you trust His timing and not rush ahead.

  • Pray for peace while waiting on His direction.

  • Declare that you will walk in faith, not impatience.

Declarations & Decrees

  • We decree that we will wait on the Lord and not be anxious.

  • We declare that God’s perfect timing is at work in our lives.

  • We proclaim that we will not birth an Ishmael by rushing ahead!
