Weekly Prayer Focus

“He is Risen—and so are we.”
The resurrection didn’t just rescue us—it redefined us. We are no longer slaves to sin, fear, or the past. We are sons and daughters of the Living God.

Scripture

Romans 8:14–16 (ESV)

“For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.
For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear,
but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, ‘Abba! Father!’
The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.”

Devotion

The resurrection didn’t just give us eternal life—it gave us a new identity.

In Christ, you are not an orphan trying to earn your place.
You are not a slave battling for approval.
You are a child of God, adopted into the family, fully accepted, fully loved.

You don’t have to live in fear. You don’t have to live under shame. You don’t have to live like you’re not enough.
Because the Spirit within you is not the spirit of slavery—it’s the Spirit of adoption.

When you walk in the Spirit, you walk with the awareness of who your Father is.
And knowing who your Father is will change the way you live, pray, speak, and see yourself.

Prayer Focus

  • Thank God that you are no longer a slave, but a son or daughter.

  • Ask the Holy Spirit to deepen your understanding of your identity in Christ.

  • Pray for those in your life who still live in fear or spiritual insecurity.

  • Intercede for the next generation—to know who they are and whose they are.

Declaration

I am a child of God.
I have not received a spirit of fear, but a Spirit of adoption.
I cry out, “Abba, Father,” because I know who I belong to.
I walk today with confidence, not as a slave, but as a son.
